On our walking tour we explore the turbulent history of the Freemasons here in Barcelona. Over the centuries members of this organization have left symbols and signs everywhere in the city that could only be decrypted by the initiated. On our search for clues we look at relieves and sculptures full of Masonic symbolism, which we then decipher.

We visit a Freemasons temple and discover many oddities on the facades of some emblematic buildings.

While strolling through the streets, we ask ourselves what is truth and what is fiction, we talk about historical facts, but also discuss bold conjectures.

To some questions, such as whether Antoni Gaudi was a Freemason, or whether the Knights Templar once founded this secret society, there is no reliable answer. But speculation can be fun, too.
