The Hospital Sant Pau

The Art Nouveau pavilions of the unique hospital complex Hospital Sant Pau, designed by the famous architect Lluis Domènech i Montaner and his son Pere Domènech i Raura, were true houses of healing. These two outstanding Catalan modernist architects took into account the latest achievements and knowledge in medicine when designing this unusual complex. They designed a hospital garden city in the style of modernism and a modern polyclinic, where each patient had an average of 145 m2. The hospital was a true wonder of the world in the city of marvels.
On this English-speaking tour you will explore this unique complex, which is the largest art nouveau complex in the world, with a trained English-speaking guide.
While you and your Barcelona tour guide stroll through underground corridors, visit art nouveau pavilions and former hospital rooms and linger in beautifully landscaped Mediterranean gardens, you will get to know the Hospital Sant Creu i Sant Pau, whose history dates back to 1401, from the ground up.
